Email to check portal. PhD rejection, offered an unfunded master's program. GPA is Masters. 0A/1W/14R/1P. No interviews.

Quebec applicant. Got email to check portal.

1 REU, 2 Exchange program, 2 poster presentations, 1 oral presentation, 7.5 IELTS, 4 years of research experience. No prior contact with potential PI. No interview invites.

Got an update in the portal. Applied for the PhD program but unfortunately did not get it. They offered me Master's program instead but no scholarship.

Was accepted last year, but decided to put off grad school for a year to work abroad. I guess it was more competitive this year.

4.0 BA and 4.0 MA, No GRE and limited research experience

Waitlisted initially after interview, was called and offered admission after being moved up waitlist.

2 year foundation program

No notification or email, just checked MyFile and my application status had simply been changed to "unsuccessful." Pretty surprised given the relevance of my work ands the professors I'd studied under previously, everyone encouraged me to apply and told me this department was a perfect fit. No GRE, Marxist political theory subfield. GPA is grad school.

The admissions process at the National University of Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy appears to be rather unconventional and lacks a discernible pattern regarding the types of students they aim to admit. This year, a significant number of applicants were interviewed, yet the majority were subsequently declined, and several unfunded offers were extended. Prospective applicants might want to consider whether investing time in the application process and interviews is worthwhile given these circumstances. It is not recommended, and this comment has already been written in a highly respectful manner.

Email from PhD advisor: "All three of our admissions slots have been filled for this cycle, which means that we will not be able to extend you an offer to join our PhD program this year."
