Received this email: “Your application has received a favorable review from the School of Social Work Committee. However, because of the tiered review process, this recommendation must be confirmed by the College of Social Science. Then, we must await the final review, official decision, and notification to you from Graduate Admissions. You will receive an email from them once this has been completed. We look forward to formally welcoming you to the Spartan family soon.” Most likely will be accepting their offer. I applied for their Advanced Standing program which begins in Summer 2026.

Received an email from my prospective academic advisor welcoming me to the program (not a formal offer of admission from the graduate school). This is for their summer term, however, I am going to be rejecting their offer as I received another offer from my school of choice.

Had less than a 3.0 from undergrad, took some post-bac certificates to bump it up, but really i think it was ~7 years of community organizing and a strong personal statement

2 years social work experience, no GRE
