Any Psychology applicants who have received rejection emails from Harvard? I am pretty sure I am on the reject list. Wonder what's taking them so long to formally let me know! All acceptances/rejections go out this week, apparently.

TTPB: I also have interviews with both of them in January. However, I have not heard anything about their final decisions. It seems that unofficial offers have been extended .

Cognitive track POI emailed me today, said official letters should go out next week. Very happy.

Emailed the admissions office to inquire about the decision timeline. Here is the reply: "Thank you for your interest in graduate study in the Department of Psychology at Harvard University. Final admissions decisions are being made this week, and official letters will be sent out next week." Has anyone got unofficial admit?

Has anyone heard a word from Harvard (cognitive track)? I wonder whether they will send out unofficial offers first or just notice everyone on the website.

TTPB: Not to falsely raise anyone’s hopes but I actually got my cognitive interview like the 13th so I don’t think everyone is reaching out at the same time.

TTPB: Understood. I have kind of mentally prepared myself for a rejection. But I only wonder why is it that some applicants are rejected right away, and others like me are neither interviewed nor rejected? What is the rationale behind making us wait it out?

To the poster asking about Harvard psychology's interview process: AFAIK, PIs were supposed to recommend their picks to the admission committee by that weekend (Feb. 6). It's then up to the committee to make offers. So no interviews so far probably would likely mean bad news. Finger crossed for those waiting for a result post-interview.

TTPB: I have applied for the Cognitive track too! Now, I am very curious. Were you interviewed with many more applicants? Or was it just you? Also, do you mind staying the initials of your POI?

TTPB: What branch of Psychology have you applied for? Clinical Psychology? I remember seeing a post on this forum that someone contacted Harvard, and they said they plan to send all interview invites etc by Feb 6th. The post also mentioned that there are no formal interview visits, but individual Prof. might choose to reach out to their candidates online. I do not remember seeing any other post reg Psychology after that.
