2a/2w/3r/1p - Not the result I wanted, but thankful for how this cycle has played out :)

First notification was in the portal with a two sentence rejection notice. Several days later I received an email with a more detailed explanation: "The Graduate Admissions Committee in the Department of English at the University of Florida has completed its review of applications and, unfortunately, has not selected you for admission. This is no reflection on your academic excellence. We received more than 200 applications from talented and accomplished students all over the world for our graduate program, and we have admitted fewer than 10%. With so many excellent applicants to choose from, our decisions often came down to judgments about which students we can best support with our particular faculty expertise, our library resources, and the teaching and other training opportunities we can provide. Many of those who applied to our program can, we believe, actually be served better elsewhere. We hope that you get that opportunity, and we wish you luck and success in your future endeavors. One final note: because we had so many applicants, we are unable to offer each applicant a detailed response on our Admissions Committee’s decision. Thank you for considering the University of Florida and for giving us an opportunity to review your materials. We are always amazed and humbled by the astonishing work that applicants to our program intend to do in the future. This year is no exception."

No funding

No offer of funding, but hoping something comes through

Domestic (out of province) applicant. Was rejected from U of T and Concordia (statements of purpose weren’t the best) so this is huge. Best of luck everyone!

I was holding on to a little bit of hope for this one, but I believe things work out the way they're supposed to. Good luck to everyone who maybe hasn't heard back yet, and congrats to those who made it.

grad gpa; undergrad gpa 3.7; two published papers; one conference; teaching and research experience; domestic (canadian) student … but alas no english degree… even though i reached out and they encouraged me to apply. super bummed. congrats to everyone who got in!!!
