B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Top 30 Programs in the US. 162 Quant + 164 Verbal 3.67 GPA 2 Publications I think I got rejected because I applied directly to PhD program from B.S. (they do not have M.S. anyways).

First rejection. ='( Was a different engineering major in undergrad, where I only took 3 bioE courses (no biology courses). Obviously my lack of related courses on my transcript won't fully explain my rejection but I get a feeling it definitely contributed.

Contacted by the professor whose research field interests me. I have mentioned his research and my personal ideas in my statement of purpose. I think the University of Tokyo will ask the professors to interview the students that they are interested in. Rather than interviewed by the committee. I wish all things go well in my interview!!
