To the person below asking abt Vanderbilt... I am applying to the bioarch track and have had an interview. It was relatively informal and I haven't received an offer yet. But in my experience my POI is really nice and open to questions over email. it might help to email and ask about application status. Hope this helps!

low GPA, but 3 years of research experience (2 years in field of interest), strong LORs, 1 pub (at time of submission). Not many PI's of interest but still liked the program enough to apply. Not sure if timing of my application had an effect (submitted 3 days before deadline)
