Unofficial email from DGS - Interview 2/11

Received an interview on 02/11, still hear nothing from the university. Does anyone has got an offer yet?

Have been put on the waitlist after interview. Really hoping for a final acceptance.

Heard back a few days after all welcome events had wrapped, extremely excited because it was my top choice!

Thank you for your application to the Department of Economics (Ph.D. program) at Emory University. The admission committee carefully reviewed all applicants and have conducted first rounds of interviews. Given the exceptionally competitive applicants we interviewed and the limited number of spaces in the incoming cohort, we have placed you on a wait list. We hope to continue in conversation with you over the next few weeks as we know more from those we already interviewed. Should a place become available, we will be in touch promptly via e-mail. If you want to stay in the wait list there is nothing you need to do at this point, but please let us know by replying this e-mail if you want to be removed from the wait list and no longer considered.

Standard rejection via email. Had great research experience including an international REU and research paper published in a top journal. Was kind of expecting to get through, feels bad.
