Generic Rejection Email

Contacted admin earlier to enquire on the status and mentioned that I should contact PI to enquire about their funding. No PI responded, so the result is not surprising.

Rejected on June 26. They were unable to give specific reasons, though I suspect my undergraduate GPA (as Georgia Tech BSME alum) was a factor.

Received email notification to check portal. No GRE. Had one interview in early Jan.

We are emailing you today to give you an update on your status for admission to the Georgia Institute of Technology. Your application is currently listed as “Waitlist”. This means that you are a good candidate but that you would need to be chosen for funding by a faculty member in order to be admitted.

I had two rounds of interview. The first round was in late February. Next, I had another interview 30 mins prior to me receiving the acceptance letter. I am from IIT Bombay, Master's GPA 4.0 ; NIT Silchar Undergrad GPA 3.6. My work is very closely related to my advisor and co-advisor. I also have work experience in Deloitte and Indian Oil Corporation. (1.5 years in total). Not sure what worked exactly. (P.S. Didn't include GRE in my application. TOEFL score 106: 28R,30L, 24S,24W)
