Got a lovely voicemail and email from Prof. Hahn.

10 March 2020 Dear--- The Department of English has carefully reviewed your application for entrance into the MFA Program in Creative Writing. I'm sorry to inform you we have decided not to offer you admission. It's an unfortunate truth of the writing life that rejection comes more often than acceptance, and I encourage you to remember that all this letter means is your application wasn't a match for our program. I wish you the best of luck with your future work. Sincerely, Becha Mara Mckay Associate Professor of Translation and Creative Writing Director of Creative Writing Department of English (well don't care, it was a bad safety school)

Accepted with funding! 1a/2w/5r/3p

Emailed the MFA program for an update and they told me that "applicants who have not received admissions decisions are currently on the wait list."

SCREAMING

No email, just a generic rejection letter posted to ApplyWeb. You have to click on "view details" to see the letter. My application status still says "submitted." 0a/1w/5r/1p

Called UCI today. All offers have gone out. Safe to say if you haven't heard, then you were rejected.

Told to check portal

Just got the email. A smidge surprised, I though my chances with this school were decent, but that's the way she goes, I guess. I hope those who got accepted have a good time here! 3a/1w/5r/1p

Good school with a great lit. magazine, but gonna decline. Good luck for those on the waitlist!

Didn't have much hope for this one, but still wanted to see what would happen. Got an email directing me to a rejection letter on the portal. I'll get into one of these top tier schools if it's the last thing I do! Just gotta work harder. 3a/1w/4r/2p

Pretty pleased to be considered by such a good program, but I'm going to reject to offer. From what I hear, funding for those who move off the waitlist can be scant, and I've been taken in by a good school already. Best luck to those crossing their fingers for NYU!

Email to check portal. 1a/0w/1r/1p, plus 1 at interview stage.

yay! first think resembling a win this season

I actually got the news a couple weeks ago because of the GTAship, but didn't want to post too early since I'm still waiting for the "official" letter. Anyway, this is where I'll be going; the funding is very generous. Expect the waitlists at Boulder and the U of U to move soon.
