So so so thrilled, especially after being really dejected after back to back rejections from UMiss and Minnesota. Good luck to everyone !! 0a/1w/2r/9p

Was notified with an email that referred me to check the admissions portal. Congrats to all who were admitted! I applied to 5 programs total, was admitted to 4. Vanderbilt is definitely one of the most selective.

Thank you for your interest in our English graduate program. I am sorry to have to inform you that our review of your application and credentials did not lead to a recommendation of admission. If you have applied to more than one Vanderbilt program, you will receive a separate communication regarding your application to each program. The Graduate School at Vanderbilt University receives applications from many outstanding candidates. Unfortunately, limited resources and competition among well-qualified applicants preclude our offering admission to all who seek it. Please know that your application and supporting materials received a close and careful review. Admissions decisions are difficult, both for faculty who review applications and for applicants who await notification. I regret having to send you this disappointing news, but I wish you every success in the pursuit of your educational goals.

Echoing the others--could the thousands of dollars of application fees you get go toward paying an English grad student to write a rejection letter that's more humane (and just better written)?

Not surprised given how hard it is to get accepted during COVID. letter was terse and they clearly forgot about me. onto the next one

Received an email to check my account. Kind of knew from there it wasn't favorable. Just skimmed for the highlights - better luck next time to me and everybody else who got rejected!

Email to check portal. Rejection letter was cold, repetitive, and just plain rude. And sending out the rejections the day after 3 people emailed them about their status just makes it seem obvious they forgot about us.

Received an email titled: "Vanderbilt University Decision Update." Prompted to check portal.

This was my top pick. Oh well. Kinda irritated that the rejection letter was rude

Vanderbilt was my top choice, so this hurt a lot.

Email to check portal. Rather rude rejection letter.

Received email to check application portal for update. Nice form letter.
