Interview was Friday 1/23, notified via email of my acceptance on Thursday 1/29. This was my top choice so I am very excited!!

Rejection was posted in portal. In the letter they suggested that I apply for one of their masters programs, which leads me to believe that they did not read or carefully review my application as I already have two masters degrees in psychology.

Notification that there was an update in the portal

Generic email informing me to check my portal: "We regret to inform you that we cannot accept you for admission to the Psychology - Clinical at John Jay, PhD program in the 2026 Fall Term. We would like you to know that this decision was reached by the program's admission committee after careful consideration and examination of all the materials you submitted. We very much appreciate the effort and time you spent in crafting and compiling your application and the interest you have shown in the Graduate Center, CUNY. In recent years, we have received a large increase in the number of applications and our entering class size dictates that we must limit our acceptances to a small proportion of those seeking admission. We appreciate the time and effort you invested in your application. " This is unsurprising because the mentor I listed was not accepting applications. It was really silly of them not update the information on the site across all of their web pages. Because it meant i had no chance, Just SUPER ANNOYED

I checked portal and saw that a decision had been made. I attended official interviews last week, virtually. I could tell based on the interviewers' questions and overall demeanor that I was not what they were looking for or wanted. Good luck to those that made it.
