Email a few minutes ago

$8k 1st year, $21k following years.

Not too disappointed, since I am doing an MA at Berkeley and know this program via my peers. I don't hear the greatest things about students' experiences, yet somehow its name still carries so much prestige. Had a meeting with the program's chair back in November and it was...very dull.

To UCB: I paid so much $$$ only to get 1. no email reply 2. even no advertisements 3. a very very late rejection. I want my money back!!!!!

Funding for one year

Received email saying "recommended for admission" with official notice to follow, so I think I've been admitted? No fellowship but that's okay. Was 100 expecting rejection. Holistic admissions is real!

Funding guaranteed for the first 5 months

Accepted to UCLA, woulda been nice to be accepted at Berkeley to stay closer to home, but I loved UCLAs program. Congrats to anyone else to got in!!

I was told that the decisions have not been made and we have to wait.

Expected, as I was never interviewed. Final result: admitted to 4 of the top 10 finance (top 10 econ - princeton - yale + ucla) and 1 of the top 10 econ.

Thanks! I was interviewed by my POI in January and February. She was an excellent professor in optimization theory and control theory. Open house is not mentioned in the email. The official offer will come later and might include that info. If you are applying to the field of control, the result should be released soon. Good luck!
