Thank you for applying to the graduate program in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. We have received a large number of applications from outstanding applicants this year, but we can only admit a small portion of them due to the capacity limit of our program. Therefore, although your record is quite strong, we are unlikely to admit you to our program. However, we feel that you might be interested in another graduate program that ME has partnership with. It is the Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) program in Mechanical Engineering and Management, which is administered and managed through Engineering Professional Education, one of the divisions of the Purdue College of Engineering. We have referred your information to them, and they will contact you soon to introduce the program and the application process.

Emailed them - nothing new. "At present, your application is still under review by the ME Graduate Admissions Committee. Unfortunately, we cannot give you an exact date on when you will receive an admissions decision (via e-mail) from us. -ME Graduate Office, Purdue"

To the posts below, I got the exact same thing last week. I don't understand why they are doing this! If they have the results, why they don't inform us until we email them!!

I just emailed the folks at Purdue and asked about my admission status. they gave me the answer in less than an hour: "Your application has been reviewed by the ME Graduate Admissions Committee. The worst school I have applied to. They sent an email after I emailed asking about my application status. Have gotten into better schools. Perhaps wasn't a good research fit. Applied in the field of soft robotics. If anyone is waiting for a result from here, you can email and get your rejection letter.

Has anyone who applied around Feb gotten a reply yet, or are they not accepting any further applications?

To the posters below regarding Purdue Ph.D in Mechanical Eng.- looking at previous year results, Purdue seems to have a habit of rolling out really late rejections in May and even June. So, if you don't hear back from them by April 15th, chances of getting an admit from there are very very slim

I'm also waiting for an admission decision. ME graduate office didn't answer my inquiry either.

However, I heard that someone already got the official admission letter from Purdue in February. I'm very disappointed. ;(
