Standard email of rejection from department and email notification from uApply to check portal for refusal letter. "The Department of Linguistics at McGill had our final admissions meeting last week. After careful consideration of the application files, we regret to inform you that we are not able to offer you a place in our program. This year we received 186 applications for about 6 places in our program. The applicant pool was exceptionally strong, which made our final decisions particularly difficult. We thank you very much for your interest in our program, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours, wherever you decide to do your graduate studies to achieve your academic goals." I mean, they made the decision last week while everything was apparent already, but decided to let us wait for another weekend...

I was awarded a recruitment scholarship weeks ago before being accepted, but I submitted my supervisor confirmation on the 17th, and was accepted the next day.

Standart email. Sad.

Standard rejection email. Did my BA at McGill and thought I had a decent chance. Oh well.

Domestic Canadian (non-Québec resident).

TTPB about McGill: they are receiving 6 masters/phd in total this year. Since there are already three reported here, I highly doubt that there are more coming. Their 2020 cohort consists of 7 phd students and no masters

TTPB: Why do you think we should expect rejections? There was only one report about MA offer here (that was for someone, who applied for PhD), others was for PhD. I believe that they just starting processing MA applications.

International application. No interview was arranged. Didn't take the offer.

informal email from PI

TTPB(mcgill): email to check the portal and another email from the department. I guess they sent out all the 6 offers last week so a rejection could be expected.

Is there any news from McGill High energy physics(th) professors? They are not responding to any emails as well..

TTPB (McGill): Was the email from a POI or from the department? And has the decision been submitted to the application system yet? I'm expecting that they're rejecting me but I haven't heard anything yet.

6 out of 186. Not really surprised but really hurts.

Had a tough interview with two professors. They were both great. It's my dream school, fingers crossed!

Has anyone heard anything from the ECE department?
