Definitely much less than 99% of interviewees are accepted. It's anyone's guess, but I'd say the rate is closer to 50%.

To Stanford poster below: I sure hope that rumor is true haha. But I saw a few posts here from last year about people who interviewed with Stanford but were rejected...

Seems like Stanford only does general committee interviews. Signed up with a PI who’s not in my field for a short slot. (PS: I still remember there’s a rumor that 99% of S interviews lead to admissions, is that true?)

Skype interview with a professor in the admissions committee. It was a short (~20min) interview and he asked me about my previous projects and research interests. He told me that decisions would be made in 3 weeks. Area: (ML/Systems).

Does no interview mean rejection? To those who received interviews - can you inform whether you have sent emails to professors inquiring about PhD and introducing yourself.
