I got a letter saying my app. was incomplete (which it isn't); when I emailed the dept. I got back, " have notified Graduate Admissions that we have admitted you to our program, and you should get a letter of acceptance shortly. (After that, I may be in touch.) We decided we were able to admit you based on the strong materials that were in hand. So don't worry, at this point, about the missing letters. They may yet show up anyway: there has been a backlog of documents this year because of a special problem that occurred."-- info on funding forthcoming. I'm prob. declining

@the UMass applicant below: Dude{/tte}...UMass CS doesn't have a MS program at all. They've only got the slightly complicated MS/PhD (fully funded, of course!) variant to offer. This is what I got to know after being accepted having app'ed to a MS-only program! n' yeah, they seem to be pretty touchy about notifying rejects.....some ppl seem to have gotten theirs only thru a call/mail to the CS deptt :)

I emailed Jean Crossman to check in since I had decisions from all my other schools, she emailed back to expect a letter soon, and told me that I had been offered admission.

Got into the fully funded MS/PhD programme here, with the Grad programme director telling me that even though some folks leave with only the Master's, the university, profs n' the labs are rather oriented towards the PhD. Wonder if I should go?

Still waiting on the official-er e-mail confirmation. Status page on the web says: As of March 27, 2008, your application is complete and the Graduate School is pleased to offer you admission. International Students Services (ISS) will be contacting you regarding your financial guarantee and visa document request. Being the first reported Masters admit for '08...hope the good luck continues with some aid coming my way, too :~)!

I got admitted to the program two years ago, which I refused. Now, they rejected me.
