Was told I would hear back after 2 weeks, it's been a month so I decided to email the director. She informed me that I was on the waitlist and that is why I was not contacted.

-> grad stats: MS Bioinformatics from USA with a 4.0 and 2 publications (1 first author, 1 co-author). Held a few leadership roles during masters. Solid LORs, TA+RA experience. -> undergrad stats: -Intl Student -2 gold medals (highest merit in campus and across all campuses) -ranked 1st in class (overall and in 4 semesters) -PS/SOP: 8/10 -LORs: 3 (10/10, 9/10, 6/10) well reputed faculty members -Extensive volunteering experience -Multiple ECs -Lead a few club teams -6 months full time SE experience -Bio major with a minor in CS -Gap year -No GRE, No publications -roughly 3.25 months to decision

There are two waves of acceptances. One from CMU side which don't have interviews and one from Pitt which have interviews. I wasn't aware of this and was already questioning my life on 5th. My acceptance from Pitt came on 8th. Now I can denounce myself from this process.

Please, If you have received acceptance letters from better Universities and are not interested in attending West Virginia University's Cancer Cell Biology Ph.D. program, kindly decline the WVU's offer. Having received many rejections from other schools and being placed on the waitlist here, this seems like my hope for now. Thanks
