There was an update in my OPUS portal, but I did not receive my official email letter until a couple of days after.

I am from a 985 university in mainland China, with an undergraduate major in preventive medicine (87/100, 3.67/4.0) and a minor in financial management (84, 3.46/4.0), and a combined GPA of 3.5/4.0 after WES certification. IELTS score is 7.5 overall (Listening: 7.5, Reading: 8.5, Speaking: 6.5, Writing: 7.5). Extensive experience in scientific research projects, but no publications.

GRE is optional, but I think low GRE score still impacted

I was contacted by a faculty member in the EH department to discuss my application this week.

EH area - epi track. POI contacted to schedule time to talk. Second faculty interview for that program, apparently you do two if you get past some initial screening? Conversational format asking about my experience and research interests, very low stress since we had a lot of research overlap

Population Health Sciences PhD in epi field of study. POI in my area of interest reached out to have an informal discussion about my application/research interests. Sounds like subcommittees met/meeting this week to discuss applicants, but overall committee may not meet to discuss further for a while. Truly was more of a conversation targeted at better understanding my interests and how they may/may not fit.
