Invited to a 4-hour group interview with ~50 other students, contained program overview, smaller group interview (6-7 people), meet current students, and a timed essay component

Applied for PhD program and was rejected. Accepted to MS Biostatistics (not the applied biostatistics masters) with a scholarship.

Submitted app before Jan 1, admitted Jan 30 with merit scholarship

They gave me 1 week to make a decision and pay the $300 non-refundable deposit. I contacted admissions and received an extension until 1/31 (an extra week and a half)

Quant: 168, no pubs, two internships.

The result was announced in a general email. Disappointed, but not really surprised since I didn't get the interview invitation. (Is there any school that offers admission but skips the interview? Hope to hear good news from other schools).
