NLP. No interview.

We received over 3700 applications this year and were not able to admit all competitive applicants. The Graduate Admissions Committee evaluated the applications very carefully and had to make difficult decisions, denying admission to many excellent candidates because of the limited number of available slots.

One publication, one under review. UW does not have many faculties working on quantum informatics, so rejection was expected.

Aimed too high and applied for the PhD program, fortunately there was an option for MS admission. Very glad they can accept me since my background is mainly physics.
