Ontario student - Completed phase I interview but was rejected for phase II

Canadian applicant from Ontario. Already had preliminary interview with two PIs.

Domestic applying to domestic school

No email from the school. The portal simply says 'Deny'. Extremely disappointed by the department's admission process. Slow with very poor communication. Anyway, all the best to the lucky ones

Will be graduating from undergrad in August. I did not have much experience and grades are meh. This is very disappointing. If anyone can give me advice for next time, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

To the poster below: Have you tried writing the department? Any response? . I have written UW public health department several times for update on admission status. My most recent email was not responded to, the last email that was replied said results will be out by the end of April but obviously that was just a front. I don't understand why they are taking them so long to send out decisions.

Ignore WL. Have not heard anything back from the program as of yet. Has anyone gotten any acceptances, rejections, or waitlists?

Highly disappointed. I dont think Canada is my place to study anymore. Took them so long to reveal rejection.

After being rejected by University of Toronto's 3 years M.Arch, I was holding zero hope for Waterloo. I felt so frustrated and started to question my own abilities and career. I was thinking what I did so terrible to not being considered remotely qualified. Today I randomly checked the application portal and found there's an admission offer posted a day ago. Finally get into my top choice!!! This is literally a dream come true. Guys, don't let any school's decision affect your self-esteem. Never consider yourself being unqualified for a program, instead think they are not a great match to your background and experience. Good luck!

Ignore the bottom post, the GPA was not correctly inputted. Canadian student from Waterloo (CAV is 79/100) and accepted to the thesis-based Statistics program. Accepted another offer already, but this university is great for Statistics and has good funding. Definitely recommend.
