I just want to follow a previous comment on the Iowa Biostatistics admission. Yes! They are definitely cheating my money and many of yours, this is the reason that they open an application pathway on SOPHAS and ask you to submit an additional fee to their system, in total 150$, my food for two weeks! Think about, if it is not in SOPHAS, who apply? If you are an applicant of 2023 or later, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO CHEAT YOUR MONEY! They also need you to submit a writing sample which is not required for most programs! What does this mean? They are playing you, making you spend time and money and not caring about you!

Got admitted by rank 5 ish biostat phd program but got rejected by this..... for a 2nd time! Just skimmed through their PhD students' files and found that all of them had BS or MS from U IOWA, literally! TBH I never heard any U IOWA admission reports from my friends or public forums. It is a mysterious program and it is justifiable to think that they only favor own students and they wanna cheat money from SOPHAS. Sigh. I never get mad any programs regardless of the resutls but this! Final comments: RNM tuiqian!

Meet with faculty. Then met with students. They told me I was their first interview this year.

I don't understand why these schools don't like good students. They shouldn't open an application on SOPHAS to cheat my money. They just need a system for their own students.

director of admissions contacted me to let me know i will be receiving an official acceptance in the coming days. fully funded. also mentioned she would like to meet with me to nominate me for a "special fellowship!" first acceptance. super groovy! neither took nor submitted GRE scores.

This is my first interview. Nervous!

GPA is my current master GPA; GRE is a 3-year-old one, and I didn't study much for GRE at that time.

Interviewed with POI and another faculty member. Took about 15 min.

Had an interview with a professor different from mentioned PI. Asked to explain my research experiences and with whom I would like to work. Pleasant interview. Had a nice time!

I have one paper (first author) and three (co-author) papers. I am not goot at english.
