Master GPA is 4.0

Accepted with the Sterling Prize Fellowship for $3500 a year for two years! Humbled.

No interview, master's. no pubs (yet)

No interview. Working on thesis-based Master's right now in Canada, thought I was a great fit because PI does exactly what my current advisor does. 4.0/4.0 master's GPA. No publications (yet). PI at Yale knows my current advisor. TOUGH!

rejected after two rounds of interview in Jan...

Had an interview with PI which had gone well, or so I thought.

3 first author papers, prestigious research scholarship, multiple research internships/projects

Two interviews in January with POI, strong research fit. Two first author publications. Email to check portal for update.

2 published papers (not top conferences though), NSF fellowship, had interview with both PI's identified in my application (one informal 30 min, one formal with 1 round with PI and 2nd round with his PhD students).
