I agree with the person below! lol I've tried to access the 'open house' too and got 'access denied'. I felt sick for a second. :( Can the people who were previously able to log in, try and do it again now to see if they will get 'access denied' too ?

As everyone here has undoubtedly looked through this forum for of the past few years, I want to point out that our year seems to be the most active in checking, commenting and worrying about getting in to Columbia. haha.

PHEW! Thank you so much for that, poster below. To see "access denied" after the previous posts said people were able to log in was soul-crushing. This forum is the only thing keeping me sane right now. I appreciate all you guys on here and sincerely wish you the best of luck.

Well, I tried to access the Open House page earlier today and I was able to get in....now that I've checked...I got Access Denied.....so maybe their stats show them that people have tried to access that page so they closed it for everyone until they're ready to send letters out? Don't give up yet guys....

I just tried to register for Open House using my application login and also got access denied. Maybe this is a sign. :-(

I received an email from CUNY J-School Saturday, Feb. 11th at 7:30 pm exactly a day after my interview and test. The email was from the director of admissions Colleen Leigh, and it was a generic acceptance message.

I just tried to click the link to register for admitted students day and got an "access denied" message. I wonder if that's a "access denied because you weren't admitted" message.

How does CUNY tell you if you're accepted or not? Is it through an email? Do they tell you to check the Application Portal for your results? How will it appear there? Can someone let me know. I'm dying to hear from them!!!! The anxiettyyy!!!

to posters below: The other graduate schools at Columbia have always released admissions results at different times -- it's a totally different admissions process and different admissions offices. Also, for the past few years, financial aid results have been released at the same time as admissions decisions for the journalism school. Some people in the past few years have even gotten financial aid info a few minutes BEFORE they got their acceptances.

I know dozens of people already who have heard from Columbia's other graduate schools. Plus, the financial aid package doesn't come until later anyway. They could have totally let us known today. Grrrrr. I'm starting to get naggy but this has been hell week

Ohhh, alright. Thank you. I remember the guy told me that they're now making decisions regarding financial aid for those admitted. But I don't see why they should make unsuccessful applicants wait. I guess we'll have to wait until next week. :) Enjoy your weekend, guys.

A friend of mine received an acceptance from different grad program at Columbia a month ago, and still hasn't received her aid package; admissions told her they're upgrading their system or something, so everyone's notifications are delayed this year. Might be why we don't know yet.

I think it's pretty safe to say we have to wait at least until Monday. If they were going to release decisions today, we would have known by now -- it's already past 5 pm EST.

To the person below: From what I understand is they send an email to let you know theyve posted their decision and your login page should change to an acceptance letter when you sign in. I was looking at previous years and this time last year and the year before last they already knew :( This sucks so much! I've been nauseous all day. I just wanted a Yes or a No because now I'll be stressing out over this all weekend long! ughhhh

Hey Columbia people! I'm dying here as well, so glad I'm not the only one. Though I already have an offer from City in London, I'm feeling really nervous! I called them yesterday and the guy said they'd let us know by the 15th the latest. 'The latest'.. So yes, it is possible that they contact us before then. But how do you get to know through 'website' ? Is it the application management page, so it changes from 'submitted' to whatever the decision is?

No -- it has only three people. Two admins and one member. They all work for the Columbia admissions office, and they were the ones who started the group last year too.
