knew it was coming!

It hurts especially because one of my letter writers was a recent and successful alum from their phil PhD.

Email to check portal. Was expected.

Got an email that there was a decision update.

4.0 GPA (grad) / email to check portal. Oddly enough, it's not like you ever get an email to check the portal and find GOOD news there. You know, when you look at the state of the job market and the average size of stipends in comparison with living expenses and the fact that all tenured profs seem to do is complain on Twitter about how much it sucks to get paid to do something they find intrinsically valuable even while most people in the country believe it is pointless and/or borderline criminal, etc., etc.... You would suppose that it would be at least somewhat less competitive. 0a / 0w / 8r / 11p

Standard rejection email sent at 6:26pm Eastern Time… Just happy to have finally been notified!! In retrospect, the program wasn't the best fit anyhow. 1a 1r 12p Congrats to those admitted!!

Email to check portal

Emailed to check the status of my application after receiving offers and interviews elsewhere. Figured it was coming--more annoyed at how they've handled it than anything. Don't know when (or if) they'll get around to sending official notifications out.

Very nice email from Major Jackson letting me know they loved my work and the waitlist is ranked.
