Hey poster below. You should call them and tell them exactly that. It is absolutely unfair that they are taking away from our time to make our decision. You can call off private-- that's what I did. This sucks a lot.

I have to commit to another school this week. I am traveling out of state to the other university I was accepted to for an orientation on Wednesday. I feel like it's absolutely ridiculous for me to have one single day to choose between two of the best J schools in the countries if I were to get into Columbia. This is a nightmare.

Called and they said decisions will be released by the end of this week. C'Mon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ridiculous

THEY SAID ADMISSION RESULTS ARE DUE BY THIS WEEK AND THE ACCESS DENIED PART DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING.... WHAT SAY U GUYS?

Hey, so I just called and they said, "should be by the end of this week." I guess that is their standard answer. UGHHHHHHHH Chances we'll know today are slim to none, I think.

I agree with the poster below. It looks like the majority of us have "Access Denied." There's no way all of us got rejected/waitlisted. I'm about to call them -- those of you who called, which number did you call? I see individual phone numbers for all the admissions staff and don't know which to dial.

To poster below who can access--it might be because you actually registered on Friday before they closed the page to people, and so you're able to see the page now? (I'm guessing that most people who could access and then couldn't access didn't register for open house). Other option is that you're in and those of us who don't have access didn't.

Did you apply for a specialization? How were you able to register. This is insane!

So Guys I was able to register for open house Friday and I even got an email automated saying thank you for registering it could be a glitch tbh but what's weird is when I login with my applicant email and password it shows admitted program MS full time 2017 and then it shows a map for directions on where to go. When you guys login does it just show a blank screen with access denied? I'm so confused 😭

Yeah I don't think they'll be monitoring or deleting anything. I think they're a few days later than usual with their decision and we're probably the year that did most research on older posts which is why this is the antsiest forum. We all had high expectations for getting an answer on Friday, so we should be prepared we may not even hear from them today, unfortunately. The best we can all do is phone them and push for a decision. They are taking away from our time to decide. Say in the phone call that you need to commit to another school soon. Is anyone else able to register for Open House? Or are you getting Access Denied? This sucks so much. I can't focus on anything or get work done. I'm literally physically sick in the stomach.

To the poster below: Just search "Columbia Journalism School class of 2018." There are three members right now and they all work for the admissions office -- they're the ones who always set up the facebook group. And no, I don't think anyone will be moderating and deleting. I truly just thing we've been discussing more than other years have.

Where's the Facebook admit group? I can't find it. To the poster below, my proctor also was MIA for most of my test; I wouldn't be worried. Also, to those saying that we're the most neurotic class -- usually grad admits moderates these kinds of non-admit discussions. I think these will disappear after notifications are sent.

This also feels like a weird year in general. Like, typically the Writing Test is administered in person on their campus (at least for the people who can make it there). This year it's online and only consisting of 3 open-ended questions? My proctor disappeared at one point. And was not even keeping track of my time nor properly communicating with me. So that makes me worried as well. I also hate that Columbia does not give us an interview. It takes so much away from the application. I'm certain my interview is what got me accepted into CUNY J-School. It was personal and allowed me to express my enthusiasm for the school and for journalism. I am so worried.

Poster below: Wow. It is at this point kind of ridiculous. They already have everything prepared, I'm sure: the New Student Info is up, the Facebook group is up. I don't know why they won't just release decisions already. This year's forum is the most anxious of all years based on the older posts. And it's also kind of freaking me out that the poster below says they were able to register for Open House?! Wtf. It's 10 AM in NYC. I'm giving it until 12 and then will start calling. Just about every other school has already given their students decisions!!!!

I called them already last week and had previously bombarded them with emails, so PLEASE you guys call them and post it here! Ahhh It's 2 pm in England. So you can imagine how I've been feeling all morning
