Astro. It seems that Mcgill always waits until the last minute to send out rejections. Anyway, I have other places to go.

Tough Luck. Hep-th.

TTPB: Did you really get waitlisted? I have not received any news and in the portal my status is still "In Review".

Declined my offer because I got into my #1 choice program at McGill. Goodluck to everyone!

Anyone still waiting for the decision? I haven't heard anything from the department. I assume I got waitlisted.

Tough year.

First off, this year they had to review nearly 2000 applicants and therefore, from my perspective, it's nearly impossible for them to review each and every candidate (Due to showing 'submitted' on majority of candidate's status). Secondly, the students who got in have been in touch with one/two Profs and after an interview, they may / may be not get into the program. So from my standpoint, this year is going to be a mass rejection in this department!! Because, a lot of students from last year have "DEFERRED" their 2020 admission to 2021!!!

Undergrad in other university in Quebec, 2 research internships including one in ML.

James Mcgill doesn't freaking care about those applicants, for he used a single day turning submitted to rejected. Not much better than U of A.

McGill CS undergrad. GPA 4.0/4.0. No research experience.

Was kind of expecting it because of my unimpressive GPA and GRE. No papers published, zero years of experience

1 year full-time research experience. 2 AAAI, 1 ICLR and 1 Springer Nature papers. 1 in review at TPAMI and 1 in review at ICCV. Strong LoRs from Google Brain and Institute Chair Prof at IIT-Bombay. 1 AI startup internship, 2 research internships at top-tier labs, 2xGSoC in AI/ML.
