2.5 years of research experience, 1 publication, 3 presentations. Rolling admissions--submitted application late October

Was told to make an account. After looking through the website, found out I got in!

I did not receive any information from the school; thus, I am unsure if my application was rejected or placed on the waiting list. I tried to email the school office, and one of them told me that the final decision notification should be out soon once it's ready from the dean's office. However, it is 28/04 now. I have no idea what is going on. Is anyone have information? got offer? waiting list? or rejection?

I did not get any information about the status of my application. I tried emailing the office, and they said the notification would arrive this week. I'm confused because they never sent me a rejection letter or informed me that I'd been placed on the waiting list. Thus, I'm curious if anyone has received an offer or a rejection letter (or even a waiting list). I really need that information because I have to make a decision about my future school soon. Graduate co-ordinator informed me just a while ago. Official rejection letter will come soon. All the positions are filled. I had two papers, Particle Theory Masters from EU and 3 very strong reco letters. In my opinion the current requirements for International students are to have another PhD with 5 papers to get into anywhere top graduate program in Particle Theory.

I asked a Prof. at both of these universities and the prof. forwarded my email to the graduate co-ordinator but still haven't got any updates regarding my application. I basically told the Prof. that graduate co-ordinator is not responding so he tried to help me out by instructing them to respond but still they haven't responded yet. Even if it's a waitlist they can actually tell the situation to us, we should be able to know how much probability do we have to get selected or rejected. Very unprofessional.

Ignore the waitlist. If anyone holds an offer from university of pittsburgh and doesn't plan to attend, I sincerely hope you would consider turning it down. This may be an option to you but to me it's the only chance. Please help out a fellow applicant here.

Still haven't received any response from these two universities. It's 14th April almost and they are still reluctant to inform the status of my application. If anyone has received any information from them in this week then please comment.

Please make your decision soon. Pitt is my only hope... I will have to either re-apply next year or give up on philosophy. It's been a horrible app cycle. Thank you so much. 0a/1w/10r

Anyone hear back after the ambiguous emails? What are they even doing?!

Admitted off waitlist. Email from DGS with offer and funding details.

Received an email from POI asking if I would still consider an offer with funding for 5 years and $1,000 signing bonus even though it is so late in the season. I replied telling them I already accepted another offer.
