I saw the "Your application has been submitted blah blah" disappear in the very top of portal. The only left are the checklist and the upload section. Does anyone as same as me? Does anyone know what this mean?

Got admitted into EC79 (Computer Engineering Track). Anyone admitted after 25th March gets 3 weeks to decide whether to accept/reject. Few people got admits today too, others waiting for the decision, just wait, many more admits to come according to me!!

Mostly the deadline for accepting the admission is 15th April and I think some admits might opt for other programs, creating vacancies. Previous record shows that EC79 admits can come as late as May. Stay positive!!!

TTPB: I guess then they might have released the admits. We should probably brace ourselves for rejects now

TTPB: I have seen some admits for EC97 on Yocket (yocket.in/applications-admits-rejects/1010-university-of-california-san-diego/2). Some people have explicitly mentioned in their admits on 25th March. (3 profiles).\r\n

I am also awaiting a response for the EC79 track. I have seen only one person here mentioning about the admit from EC79. May be others can also let us know if they have heard anything related to EC79 track

Anybody got any update from UCSD regarding PhD admissions in the Materials Department for fall 2020?

Off the waitlist. Funding offer of $28.5k: breakdown $18k regent's fellowship, 25% readership amounting to $6.5k, $4k summer fellowship. Funding from year 2 onwards is listed at $22k only. $4k summer fellowship available for second summer too. Not sure if it is enough if you have to live off-campus -- on-campus housing seems to be competitive.

TTPB: Sounds like UCSD is rather inconsiderate. I mean, if you have to be competing against the new batch of applicants then it is NOT a deferral, but rather a reapplication. Anyways I am losing my hope for this program already. I can't think of any reason why they would admit any new candidates at this point of time.

I am still waiting for my admissions results. I emailed the CSE department at UCSD; they said admissions results will be finalized by mid April. I deferred my admission from last year and am being reconsidered for admission with this year's applicant pool.
