TTPB, I am an admitted student also with only one faculty contact too. When I interviewed, my POI told me that they had so many app's this year that after the initial selection that profs were still left sifting through more apps than usual. This is to say that IMO, having only 1 faculty contact ~does~ mean that that contact was the one that submitted our candidacy to the committee, but that ~does not~ necessarily mean that they are the only person that wants to work with us. | ||||

Most of the programs send admits on a rolling basis. So yes, a few admits for Ph.D. would be out for sure if not all. It's possible that a few MS admits are also out. TTPB who is foul-mouthed: Wait for a month, you'll not believe how wrong you were. I also haven't received any decision, but I wouldn't be so sure that all the posts are fake. I applied last year and I was also in denial in Jan/Feb. It turned out that most Ph.D. admits were sent in Jan/Feb and the rejections were sent really late. | ||||
