I know admissions are holistic, but I can't really understand this since I got accepted by much more selective programs. The only exceptions are UCLA and UCSD. I suspect that they are mass rejecting internationals on purposes. Probably state policy? Who knows.

TTPB: Don't be sad about your rejections. The college admissions process is very strange and certainly can appear not fair at times. Just improve on areas you see as needing improvement. All hope is not lost. Imagine if next year you get into UCSD or better programs, so just have some patience and cheer up ! :) My first admissions cycle I got declines from everywhere(14).

TTPB: Please don't be so heartbroken. You can always try again by improving certain aspects in your SOP and doing some relevant internships. This season has anyway been impacted by Covid and most of sessions will get delayed.

TTPB: Life is short and yes, we can be judged by an admission decision. Moreover, there was only one accepted in the mass-rejects last time, and he/she was a PhD reject who got into masters. That means there is no hope. It is a mass reject.

I know there were a few admission last year at the time of mass rejection. So it is too early to predict our decisions. Don't expect, and don't give up hope too. Go to sleep, we will see it tommorrow. Life is long, no one can be defined by an admission decision.

TTPB: Bro, no offence but your GRE is really a no-go. Now I'm confident that I'm gonna be rejected

I cannot see any checklist now. There are just UPLOAD DOCS and EDIT PORTFOLIO sections. This could possibly mean I am just a few light-years away from my decision. God Help!

TTPB: What everyone means is that up till yesterday, the portal showed a message saying "your application has been submitted to..." at the top, in addition to the checklist, portfolio and upload sections. Now, that message has disappeared and only checklist, portfolio and upload sections remain. Since this seems to have happened to everyone, it feels like a mass reject is on the way.

Does anyone have any updates on UCSD admissions? My application is still under review. Does that mean I'm on the waitlist?

TTPB: what are you guys talking about your application being sent to department being written on portal. Mine still shows the material received checklist, upload materials and portfolio change. Please help, really scared.

The previous accepts did not point out any such changes in the portal and there have been a bunch of them. So, it seems like a mass reject likely. Not great news but some closure finally.

Yeah, the "sent to department..." also disappeared on my profile too. If too many people have it disappeared then possibly it is a mass reject. I hope not.

TTPB: My portal has not changed (the checklist and everything are still there). I'm confused lol. They are taking so long to send out decisions

TTPB: Same, the "your application has been submitted blah blah" has disappeared from my portal as well. Could this mean a mass reject?

TTPB: I interviewed in mid-January and am interested in controls. I didn't hear anything after my interview until earlier this week when I received the acceptance.
