Columbia and Northwestern decisions are out. Safe to say this has been the best day of my life.

I was accepted to UC Berkeley, USC, and NYU. Columbia was the icing on my petty cake! An admissions officer during a Columbia info session told me to my face that they never accept people straight from undergrad into their MA program, but here we are... *sips tea*

To the posters below who day you were told you got no scholarships: what did the email say? did it specifically say no scholarships or was it just a general email?

Studio 20: I really like the program too, hope we get in! Business & ER: I am checking my e-mail after every few minutes, even though I have an alert on my phone. My sleep cycle now runs on New York time. Sigh. The uncertainty is frustrating.

I got a scholarship mail 10 minutes after the acceptance, I didn't receive any aid. I don't think I'll be taking this up but I'm still happy I got in. From your interactions with Columbia U. alums, have you heard that the 93,000$ loan is worth it?

To the other Studio 20 poster: Will do!!! Hopefully we will hear from them within the week and finger crossed for both of us!!!! I also got accepted to University of Missouri and Northwestern, but I just really want to go to New York :)

Just received a seperate email with 15k in aid. I had strong recommendations from professors I've had for years: one of them a Pulitzer winner, one a Columbia Journ alumna and one a veteran journalist and the director of the Journalism program at my school. had a 2.6 GPA my first year of college as a pre-med student. Transferred schools and have a 3.7 now at my current school as a journo major. Have 2-3 years of intense reporting experience for my school's news website, interviewed local politicians and covered a lot of major news events on scene. Interned at NY1 News and Fox News.

Accepted with only $20K loan approval. They sent an email saying I did not get any scholarships. I can't afford to go. :-( Congratulations to those who got in and are looking forward to attending!

To the Studio 20 poster: Hope we hear from them today. I got accepted to BU for the MSc program, got a rejection from UC Berkeley and didn't apply to Columbia consciously. Do post here if you hear anything from NYU?

To poster below: I also applied to studio 20! That's my dream program in my dream school. Haven't heard from them though. Now that I'm waitlisted by Columbia I'm really hoping to hear something ... anything. Sigh.

I don't think that is possible we have to wait for the admissions office to tell us about the decision.

I have not heard about funding yet. I researched some professors and wrote about their work in my goals essay after the advice of a Columbia alum. I have extensive work exp. and internships during my BA, no post grad exp. cause I graduate in may. Congrats and looking forward to meeting the class of 18!

I'm from Latin America. First of my class, 6 years of experience in the field. Applied for Masters + documentary program. Accepted in both :) no word on funding. So excited!! Good luck for everyone

Has anyone heard from Studio 20 or Literary Journalism? I am an international student and I haven't received any communication from them since I've applied.

New to this page but have been ghosting to see if anyone had heard. I got in (yay!) but has anyone received word on funding??? I won't be able to go without any. I had lots of student experience and have done some small internships, but my 1-2 years prof background has not been in journalism.

Just got my rejection letter & I'm pretty shocked. Graduated as the valedictorian at my undergrad, current editor in chief at a large magazine publication, paper/magazine/video experience, four strong letters of rec from Columbia J-school alumni. I'll be attending UC Berkeley in the fall, so I can't complain. Best of luck to everyone!
