POI had already contacted me by phone (1/22), but this was the official email from the Graduate Coordinator. It contained a nice letter informing me of short list status and inviting me to Recruitment Weekend.

Email indicating that, they are unable to recommend for spring admission, and they are considering the application for review for fall admissions. This means, they are saying indirectly, that " we cannot give you admission neither for spring nor fall.We just cannot say that your application is rejected directly and we want to still mess with you, by giving decisions, we ourselves don't understand. We neither want you to join our program nor we want to convince you to join another program.we just want you to keep waiting helplessly for our decision". This is exactly the assumption in the email(just 2 lines), sent by them.
