Like many others on here, I have been waitlisted. The email said I was a top applicant and to contact my advisor to inquire about funding (it sounded optional). Lsp to let them know if you have any impending deadlines so with that considered, it sounds like those who got this email were near the top of the waitlist. From what it sounds like, department funded positions, such as TAships, have been claimed (or are pending offers), and that there may be RA positions by individual professors available (which is why they encouraged us to contact our potential advisors). Currently I have an offer that's deadline is fairly soon so I'm a bit nervous for these decisions. Good luck everyone!
