I didn't receive an email, I just decided to check the portal today and it said I got rejected. Did undergrad at a reputable college, received my masters from a top 5 school for aerospace engineering graduate programs, and I've been working at a government lab for a year and a half. Currently have 2 conference publications with more upcoming and a journal paper upcoming. I had actually met with an MIT professor back in October and spoke to him about working in his lab group and he's on the grad committee. Our meeting went well and he told me I'm at the top of his list. Despite all of this, I didn't get in. I've got a really good offer with a professor from Minnesota so I'm not too upset. Good luck to everyone

Ignore the status. I cannot see the student login to check the application status. Is anyone else facing the same issue?

Submitted my application on the 30th of December.

I had 3 interviews with PI and she told me I should expect to get an offer. I don't really understand why I get waitlisted.

Interviewed mid-January, interviewed at the Visit Day during mid-February, and was accepted shortly after

Completed undergraduate degree in three years, undergraduate research experience, 2 years of industry experience

10+ research publications, 2 abroad international conferences, 5 leadership positions, 4 national awards, TOEFL 112

Had previously interviewed. The interview did not go very well, so expected this. Wasn't a great fit. All the best to whoever got in!

have multiple chats with professor before being admitted
