Unfortunate, but was expecting this all told

They offered me an unfunded MA, just like they do across programs to rip students off. They had people wait a crazy amount of time last year as well, especially waitlisted students. I find it really inconsiderate to let people know with barely two weeks to make a decision and a blatant ploy for cash from desperate students with this unfunded MA nonsense. There's a specific kind of MA cohort you're trying to curate if you expect people to drop 30k a semester in tuition...and not even be up front with them about the tuition cost in the first place...

1a/3w/14r/6p its so over (1a is the school where I got my BA and MA already - so I'm cooked)

GPA is Master's. --- I contacted the departmental graduate program assistant via email, and she informed me that the results will be updated on my file within five to seven business days and that the department is currently unable to offer me admission. Tbh, the response was both professional and prompt. After I sent my email, I received a reply in approximately one hour.

Email to check portal 1a(MA)/0w/12r/4p

Offered unfunded MA admission. Grad GPA 4.0. 2a/0w/1r/1p (but pending one is probably silent rejection). Was a strong fit for research interests, but I wouldn't have gone anyway given two acceptances to higher-ranked programs.

Email to check portal. PhD rejection, offered an unfunded master's program. GPA is Masters. 0A/1W/14R/1P. No interviews.

Got an update in the portal. Applied for the PhD program but unfortunately did not get it. They offered me Master's program instead but no scholarship.

No notification or email, just checked MyFile and my application status had simply been changed to "unsuccessful." Pretty surprised given the relevance of my work ands the professors I'd studied under previously, everyone encouraged me to apply and told me this department was a perfect fit. No GRE, Marxist political theory subfield. GPA is grad school.

Please disregard the decision box indicating "Waitlisted." I would like to know if NYU has released all decisions for English PhD applicants. I have not received any communications from them, so I emailed to inquire about the status. About a week ago, I received a response stating that the decisions would be released shortly. However, I still have not received anything. Due to this uncertainty, I am unable to accept another offer while I wait for NYU's decision. Thank you!

Wasn't the best SOP. Should've spent more time
