My status is still in progress. Anybody's heard anything back?

Anyone got a decision for the fall sept 1st deadline. Mine says still under review.

What the hell is wrong with UBC mech. still no update, one more month to start

No response! and I've been rejected from all other universities!

Guys do you reckon that there is any other decision other than a reject at this point in time. No reject or acceptance for anyone. I think honestly I would be rejected even when supervisor seemed interested. Anyone with some insider knowledge at the department would be welcome.

I applied to the MASc program and no result yet. I had contact from supervisor which seemed positive. Still haven't heard officially, am I the only one. Please tell me I am not the only one going bonkers.

Had anyone got any news regarding UBC's Mechanical department Master's Program for Fall 2017 ?? Its been too quite till now. If anyone know any whereabouts please share.

To the poster on UBC Mechanical posted earlier, when were you notified of your status as "waitlist"? I contacted a prof in December 2016, who mentioned his interest in my application. Unfortunately, he hasn't replied back to my mails till last month. Don't know what's wrong with my application ?

Hey guys. Does the Mech dept at UBC do any interviews. Previous years there seems to be some reports that they were invited for an interview. Did anyone have an interview/skype session so far for the September start

To the poster below. There is not sth wrong in your application. I've applied for this program with 5 ISI papers in highly prestigious journals like Energy, IELTS 7.5, 3 years research experience, excellent LOR's and the GPA 3.7/4. Still have not received any feedback from the professors and the department. On the other hand, I received favorable responses from good universities in Europe like TUM, NTNU and ... There is no doubt that securing a professor is the only way to overcome the admission process and the key to do that just have some connections. Connections>> Qualifications

Had applied to MEng Mechanical like 3 months ago, IELTS 8, Research Intern, 8 Projects and Good LORs.. Still no reply from the department. Similar for McMaster. I am feeling it there is something seriously wrong in my application.

I don't hear anything from this Ph.D. program. Did anyone hear any notification?

Ahh I see. Their admissions is a joke, 150 dollars wasted. Future applicants, only apply if you get a positive reply from your prospective supervisor. If not this is a joke. Maybe the department is understaffed or in some crisis, first is the extended deadline till june, lack of support ( I had login problems with CWL, no one from mech helped) and shitty servers.

Yes, it was Derek! One thing that almost drived me crazy was this fact that I totally forgot to send my electronic IELTS score and even after 4 months they did not bother themselves to notify me regarding this lack of documents. I applied for several programs in Europe but whenever there were some missing documentations, they were contacting me immediately! regardless of zero application fee!!! But when you pay the application fee it's natural to get some basic services concerning your application status.

Thanks for the info. I got a reply from this person called Derek. He basically cut and pasted the text from the website After applying section. http://mech.ubc.ca/graduate/prospective/applications-admissions/research-application-instructions/ They didn't give any specific details such as the decision hasn't been received from supervisors. Did Derek reply to your mail too?

To the poster below. As a matter of fact, I had some correspondence with the department and they told me that the professors whom I had selected have not sent their response concerning my application. They refused to tell me the date on which they are going to publish the results of admission or even anybody has granted the admission so far. Please be advised for some applicants the visa procedure takes very long time and they should publish the result at least 3 months ahead of September. Hence, 1st of June for the deadline is very late. Moreover, it seems the other departments have already announced the results but no any news from this department.

Guys!!! for mech the deadline is June, do you think that is the reason for the delay!! I sent a mail and received a generic response. Surely, they should be done with apps within a certain period and won't even tell us that. bloody hell. For September start would they let us know in August.
