Computer Engineering graduate from India, 9.75 pointer, 324 GRE, 4 internships, 1 published IEEE paper, MITACS Scholar, 1 year of work ex as a full time Data Engineer.

Received an acceptance to the MScAC program. technical interview happened on 22nd April. Stats- 9.01 GPA from a not-so-well-known uni in India. 1 conference paper in Springer (co-author), 1.5 YoE in an MNC, 2 internships, No GRE.

I contacted the PI prior and got really positive feedback, applied and got no news until rejection in portal. I personally feel betrayed since I could not even afford the application fee (international student). I feel now they generally say apply to "everyone" to they can make enough money (otherwise, I spend days preparing/talking to them, the least they could do was to explain my rejection in more details). I mean, you know my application quality, why bother giving hope to those who are barely holding and not even privileged enough to apply to many schools (due to application fee). Ngl, I just want to say fuck you UofT.

MScAC course. Got an interview invite at April 15. Interviewed same day at 9:30 PM IST. Got an email saying there has been an update on my portal at 4:35 AM IST. Tier 2 University from India, 9.51 GPA from India, 3 internships out of which 1 is MITACS. 4 paper, all under review, 324 GRE and 8 IELTS.

Ignore the waitlist. I inquired about the decision and got this response today: “Your application is awaiting decision. Our admission committee and faculty are still reviewing applications. More offers will be sent throughout March and April.”
