First part of undergrad went bad, second part went well; hence the low 3.3 total GPA. I thought this would be a deal breaker for many great universities but it was not and I got into two more amazing programs. My lesson: It is impossible to guess what admissions is looking for, so don't close any doors yourself. Good luck!

I was rejected from PhD program on March 3rd but notified in letter that I was being considered for MA program in Economics. Does anyone know how long after PhD rejection it typically takes to receive decision from the MA program?

International applicant with a master's degree in public policy from the US. Had some research experience and experience working at urban research labs. Rejection with generic email. No interviews or any correspondence prior to rejection. Applied in early January.

disgusting that it takes a department this long to send a rejection letter. They were also really rude when I tried asking them application related qs in december. Waste of money and time

Got a MS offer. No interview.

Was waitlisted on 24th February, 2026. Received rejection over a month later.
