Last year I tried the combined msc/phd, rejected. This year, just the MSc, again rejected. I have 10+ published papers in the area, with 100+ citations and an h-index of 6. Just wanted to get a solid quantitative foundation before Phd, with a thesis that is highly, highly valuable for the field (as confirmed by other professors genuinely experts in the field).
