Same informal rejection appeared minutes ago on application portal.

Checked U of H application portal and found a form letter rejection. I was not notified via email beforehand.

For more precise clarification, I was wait listed on March 7.

To the question below regarding the NYU Low-residency Program in Paris, I am wait listed for the full-res program in poetry, and know that the department extended the option to leave the wait list in exchange for consideration for the Low-res Paris program. As such, Low-res decisions might not go out until the middle of April when the house of cards finally falls.

That's shoddy form. I am sorry for the impersonal, sloppy delivery. Thanks for the info.

In response to the question about the application... Yes, there was a "View Your Decision Letter" button in my application to the fiction program. There wasn't any information in my myUH account, nothing in my email. They just dropped a letter (filled with typos, ironically) in my file.

Was there a button on the applyweb page that said "View Your Decision Letter"? also, did the previous poster apply in poetry or fiction? Thanks and good luck all.

Didn't get an email notification, just checked the app portal like the poster below. Pretty crappy.

Have any poetry applicants received word of any kind today from University of Houston?

Found out through the online application via form letter. Day ruined.

Got admitted to the program about six weeks ago, but still haven't heard back from the Teaching Assistantship, which is really affecting my decision. No one seems to be answering my emails either.....

3a/3w/6r. Love this weird, wild program! Will be heading somewhere up north but congrats to everyone who got in!

UF(R), IWW(R), Brown(R), Irvine(R), UVA(W), 2(P). Totally overestimated myself. Sweet.

Expected. 3a/0w/8r/2p

Was accepted a few weeks ago. I accepted the offer this week.

Accepted without funding. 1a/6w/8r/2p

Last week (3/20), called graduate office & was told, the committee hadn't looked at any applications. follow up call with Gabriel Packard, he said notifications would go out at the end of April. given the expense, the lack of transparency, disorganiation & unaccountability in these program is amazing. That said, having gone to the open house, and heard Peter Carey speak, he sounded like many other clueless 60+ white dudes in Ivy Leagues.

A final decision on the admittance of waitlisted students will be made no later than April 18, 2017... 2a/2w/1r
