Grad GPA

0a/1w/2i/5r/0p. I knew that the rejection email was coming, since the program never asked to interview me, but now it is official. I currently have no acceptances, but have been told that I am at "the very top" of the waitlist for UCLA, so there is still a chance that I may get into a program this year.

My only acceptance but also my top choice so it worked out 1a/2r

Graduated from top 15 US uni, with 2 years work experience in development economics research center (China focused) that allowed me to conduct some fieldwork in China. Very excited about this acceptance!

Got an email at almost 11pm last night which was not the most professional thing I've ever seen...

Never received notification, so I ended up emailing the program. Apparently decisions went out a while ago, and I just never got an update.

Got an email at 2 pm EST. "Thank you for your application to the Interdisciplinary Master's Program in Environmental Studies (ENVS) at the University of Oregon. I am very sorry to inform you that we are unable to recommend you for admission Fall 2024. A committee comprised of Environmental Studies faculty, in consultation with focal department faculty across campus, carefully reviewed all applications. Because the ENVS program is small and functions through a unique collaboration between Environmental Studies and other UO departments, it is highly selective, with a great deal of competition for each available place. We thus find ourselves unable to admit many of the highly qualified students who apply. This year we had a larger than average pool of very competitive applications."

I give up trying to switch fields from humanities to environmental studies/sciences. It is not my fate.

And with that, the Fall 2024 application cycle comes to an end. 5a/2r/1w/0p
