Has anyone received acceptance mail from Communication and Network Track?

Got invited to "the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department’s Graduate Recruitment Day at the University of California, Santa Barbara." I asked what this means and was told it means I am being recommended for admission but that the final decision is made by the Dean of the Graduate Division.

General admission with no interview

Went to Berkeley from undergrad, didn't interview (maybe because they already know me from my undergrad). Got a generic email that described funding and said I should decide an advisor by the end of the year. Signal processing track.

To the UCSD poster below from Applied EM track: Did you interview with Dan Sievenpiper? Could you share a little more info? like if you had any publications, prior relevant work experience etc. I am interested in him as well.
