I received an email from Dr. Stillman today notifying me of my acceptance and offering me a scholarship which would allow me to pay only the in-state tuition rate (I would be an out-of-state student).

Offered an assistantship of about $4,000 for the year, for 4.5 hours of work per week. Letter received 2/24 in the mail, dated to 2/20.

I feel relieved for this, considering that later on I learned the school is very expensive and there's not much financial support to sustain from. Not surprising that I was rejected considering my low GRE scores and my lack of pre-requisites. I had 4 years of research of experience, taught abroad in rural communities. Trilingual, but these programs are pure numbers game.

Upper 60 = 3.90. No funding :( but I expected that.

For the person who received the phone call offering a scholarship to GW, had you already accepted the offer before receiving the call? I can't tell if I need to accept to find out about scholarships or not... Thanks and congrats on the scholarship!!

Interview on 2/24/17

Waitlisted, coming from out of field (psychology and Spanish double major) and also applied to bilingual program. Sad but I know it's super competitive so not super surprised. I have been accepted to one other program so far.
