TTPB: Do you know when the 2nd wave of acceptances will come out? I still want to keep hope!

CS Theory group. Got the regular 2448$*9 months assistantship + 8000$ fellowship. Very likely will accept. 6 papers in theory/theoretical ML. ACM ICPC bronze medal (top 10 finalist).

UMASS and its fuckall admission process!! they could have just fucking released a google sheet with results and the process would have been much simpler and less stressfull!!

Any idea when these guys are give their decisions. Their deadline was 8th Dec come on I need my decision till now. Also these fuckers should stop sending promo emails. Scares the shit out of me Everytime

I didn't hear back as well. Last year cycle F2020 -- they had two waves of acceptance then the third wave was all rejection, so I'm hoping they have another wave of acceptance for me. I'm not losing hope yet!

Hmm the soon to come rejects are palpable! It's UTA admits rolling by any chance?

Still under review. I guess that's how rolling admits work. I am MS/Ph.D. applicant though.

Tier 3 University from India with 2 pubs and good GPA, LORs, and GRE scores. Didn't expect a rejection considering some of the other admits I received. Very stressful process though urgh.

Just checked. Under review became update pending. Want to know if this happened for everyone. If that's the case, then can we assume this is a mass reject wave?

Haha, same. It's finally showing as "update pending". I hope that it's not a reject but that looks unlikely. This is certainly one of the worst admission processes of all - why can't they simply release all the admits/rejects at roughly the same time like CMU or other universities.

After checking for the 158th time, status changed from 'Application Under Review' to 'Update Pending', which probably means the department made its decision and forwarded it to the graduate programs office. Did the status change for anybody else? This could mean anything - could be mass reject. I don't know, I think I am going to cry 😭

I did not expect this; it was my safety school, lol. Email received around 6 am (UK time), which is odd! Top 15 UK uni, No GRE.

Any idea when will UC Davis and UC Irvine declare their admits for fall 2021?

Rejected twice. Will need to write GRE again and apply next year.

This was my dream school! I'm beyond happy rn!!!
