Hang in there, friends.

Form email rejection :( Only acceptance right now is not funded. And my status for Maryland also changed to "under graduate school review" this morning. Please god let it be an acceptance. 1a/4r0w/8p

Expected. Only applied cause it was free. 2r/1w/0a/6p

I really wanted this one :( 2a/0w/5r/7p

Emailed to ask about my status and was told that first round offers went out and they'll move down the waitlist until they fill the cohort or until April 15th, pretty basic stuff. No idea what position I'm at on the list. 2a/2r/1w/7p

Just this morning my status changed from "under departmental review" to "under graduate school review."

0a/2r/6p This is the one school I wasn't worried about. *sigh*

Other UMD Fiction applicants -- has your status changed in the portal from "Under departmental review" to "Under graduate school review"? I could swear this has been changed within the last two days or so from when I last checked it. I wonder if that's good news or bad. Thanks and good luck!

If you're not attending please say so! This is my absolute dream school.

Sent an email saying that I’ve been accepted and that they will be sending funding details and a formal letter of acceptance soon.

Got a request for interview!

To below: the email came from James Galvin and was form-like, only informing me of my official acceptance. He does mention that he emailed to mitigate the anxiety that comes with distributing acceptance phone calls over several days. Phone call regarding funding and program specs to come. Happy! (Also not a first-time applicant.)

Before I got this call I was rejected from five programs in a row. I had given up hope. Rejections hurt so much, but don't let them fool you into believing you won't succeed as a writer. Don't give up on yourself. All the best to everyone still waiting.

The form rejection letter was not super encouraging. 1r/0a/6p
