anyone heard from the department? I saw a msg below that they will notify us no later than March 22nd but received nothing as yet.

In the words of Stephanie Tanner - How rude!

Not surprised! Maybe next year.

Expected outcome; will likely try again next year.

Rejected, probably due to missing GRE scores. Admitted to both ETHZ (first choice) and EPFL (third choice) with full scholarship. Guess the GRE is a must.

to the poster below, no i haven't heard from them as yet. Has anyone else heard from SMARCHS in design as yet?

Expected. The structural and geotechnical group in MIT is very small. The competition is very intensive.

This was my second time applying. Anyways, heading to GSD !

Hi folks, Has anybody received an informal notification? Could it be the case that people who are admitted are notified by mail firstly and then receive the official letter for the department while unsuccessful applicants only receive a formal rejection letter later, or are all decisions posted at once?

Never contacted with a faculty member and it may have contributed to this decision.

Finally, it was super crucial for me. What can I say... Of course the unusual and cruel wait was very rude and upsetting for me. Judging based on the posts here I don't know who was accepted this year...

Generic rejection email. I expected this result, and I'm not bothered because I have other options.

Finally! Why take so long!

To the person asking after HTC PhD result updates: Some people have reported being put on the wait list which means acceptances have already gone out. No official notice from the department yet, but people are posting on the forum pages for 2018. Probably the best place to get updates until then.
