Applied for EE PhD but got the chance to Master degree. I'm going to decline the offer anyway, Good luck everyone!

Applied for PhD but considered as master student, and after finished the digital interview on 4/3/2020, just got the admitted letter on 4/28. Finally decide to go to Columbia and best wishes to all of you! Apply for PhD again after I got the master.

Pathetic by Penn. Sent their decision quite late. Around 15 days after the 15th April National Deadline. I was told by a prof over there that he would take me in and hence I rejected the other offer I had on 15th April. And now I get a rejection letter from UPenn. Note to everyone applying next year: Do not believe prof, their fundings are quite fickle.

Has anyone heard from ECE department of Alberta???

TTPB: There were no direct mention for acceptance. Just positive nuance, that's all. How long have you been waiting for decision since you submitted yours?

TTPB: May 1st is the confirmation deadline for most of the admits. So, they will declare the remaining results, admit or reject, after that.

TTPB: Thank you for the info.. Did your POI told you you will get accepted but the admission will send you your acceptance letter by May 15? or did he told you that you will be know from the admission if you are accepted or not by 15 May? Did he gave you any hint if you will/are accepted or not?

No E-Mail notification was sent to check my status; I only checked my application page and saw that I have been admitted. In the offer letter, it was stated that the department is not offering any form of funding of financial assistance to me at this time. I consider this as a subtle rejection. TTPB, were you given any funding in your offer letter?

TTPB: POI mentioned result should come out by 15th of May, and told me to contact him if no notifications come out. To the poster who questioned: Didn't the result come out yet? Mine only says "Your application is on committee's review".

TTPB: Did your POI told you he will be accepted but you have to wait for the official acceptance, or you do not have any idea about your status?

honestly f**k purdue, I applied for a PhD program and they ask me to join their MS Online program??

Sorry for the confusion. Yes, I received the offer on April 14th and I have already accepted this offer from Rice.

TTPB: I too am waiting for a decision from the ECE department. I have reached out several times only to receive the same message that "no decision has been made on my application." This is completely unacceptable for a university as prestigious as CMU. Regardless of the pandemic situation, nearly five months is far too long to without a decision. The April 15th deadline should be respected.

To the post below: Did you get an offer on 14th April? Also, what do you mean by already accepted the offer? You accepted the offer from RICE or from somewhere else?

I was on the waitlist before but finally got the offer. Already accepted the offer.
