People who had interviews: could you please tell us your sub-fields?

I'm the 8 poster below. Here are the data points I have: Last week dept admission coordinator said that they expect to wrap up by mid-March. POI said that admissiom process is definitely running late and they are still conducting interviews and final decisions have *not* yet been made. They are planning to take

I applied to the Cellular/Molecular track, interviewed the second weekend, and was emailed by one of the co-directors this evening!!!! This is my top choice, I'm beyond excited!

Since I have no idea what the hell is going on, I'm gonna use all three languages I know. Could we please chill? TTPB: I really hope it is the case. I have been so anxious these days (could " get up" three times during 1:00 AM ~ 5:00 AM) and I asked both the department and the POI interviewed me but there was no clue at all. The waiting really drives me crazy.

Interviewed last Monday, got the results Friday evening. Before the interview, I hadn't heard anything from them.

(Not waitlist, and not the person above asked). TTPB: I heard from my friends at Columbia said that they are now in the spring vacation which will last until 03/08. (Not sure whether the committee will work in the vacation or not). In addition, he said that the physics department has just started the review process (which is quite surprised to me). I am very anxious as well but I think that we need at least one more week for the decision? I am not sure whether the admission status can be asked personally but I will have a try.

TTPB who said those who didn't recieve an email yesterday are rejected, what's your source? According to past statistics, Columbia does rolling admits. So hopefully those of us who didn't recieve the email aren't rejected YET.

TTPB asking about reactivation - Yes I reactivated my application using the old portal (MICE). Seems a bit odd that they would send decisions to others before reactivated applicants. Did you mail the admissions office?

Apparently the people who got accepted already got their admit letters yesterday? I didn't receive any email so does that mean I already got rejected?!??? :(

Acceptances are sent out in waves. A few must have received offers as they are the very top picks. For the rest of us, rejections might come in a few days (I dunno) but if you are top on the waitlist, this purely depends on if (and when) the first offers were turned down. Feel like Columbia has been very conservative in giving offers this year, largely due to finance. Good luck folks
