Poster below: No, San Jose is more of a school based program. Washington has a good medical program. Are you a CA resident? May I ask what your stats are? Guess your acceptance rules out that everyone who has not heard back is getting a rejection....good news.

to the poster below to whom did you send the email to regarding your admission status?

I emailed the director and asked him my status and he responded saying i've been admitted to the extended masters program. He said they received over 400 applicants and are backed up. Does anyone know if this program prepares you for the medical setting?

To the poster below: Nope, I'm a CA res and still haven't heard anything, but I am assuming what others have said is true - only rejections are yet to go out. Doesn't seem it like would be that hard to send out a form letter to everyone. I've worked in many an office with machines that print, stamp and help you stuff envelopes. It would take me about two hours to do 300+. Maybe I should drop by and volunteer...

It seems like San Jose has accepted and waitlisted CA residents, but out of state people have had yet to hear from them. Is this true? My status says referred to grad dept as well.

For the poster that said they had never received your application what did your MySJSU account say? When I log in it still says "Referred to Grad Dept".

To the posters below, exactly with whom are you speaking to at SJSU? I only get a voicemail. It is totally absurd if it's true that they may not be "receiving" applications... Thank you!

Thanks for posting about San Jose. That is crazy! I received an email saying that they have my application, so I'm assuming it is OK. It appears that a lot of the CSU's are responding even later this year than normal (which was still late). Sigh.

I emailed the department head after getting frustrated with not getting any answers after repeatedly calling the department. Last wednesday I was told that all notifications going out from then on were going to be rejections. Unfortunately it seems as though they feel they are too busy to inform people of their rejections, very unprofessional. I would suggest contacting the department head directly to receive your answer.

To those who have not heard from SJSU I would recommend calling them to check that they actually GOT your application. I know the person who answers the phone can be...rude but it is worth it if it means you don't have to wait anymore. When I applied two years ago they "never received" my application, "never received" the application of someone in the post bacc cohort before mine and miss-filed (therefore never read) the application of a member of my post bacc cohort. If you are not hearing, it may be because it was never read.

To the posters below - I'm IN state and I haven't even heard a word. It's pretty ridiculous. I don't see how it can be anything but a rejection at this point.

Still waiting to see if we can hear back from the Sociology program. Our document deadline was at the end of March 2012.
